I help athletes break through their mental constraints so they can live and perform with more freedom.
Get to know me
I first recognized the power of the mind while I was running cross-country and track at St. FX University. Mental skills like visualization, breathing, self-talk, and gratitude were catalysts for my consistent athletic success, which inspired me to teach others how they could use them too.
So I pursued a Master's degree in Sport Psychology and, in 2018, I started teaching mental skills to the varsity curling, lacrosse, and football teams at Wilfrid Laurier University to help the student-athletes get the most out of themselves. Since then, I've helped athletes across 20+ sports break through the mental constraints that get in their way of performing freely.
Mental skills are not a quick fix, but when we put in the work to observe and question old ways of thinking, and commit to mental practices, we inevitably feel more calm, confident, and focused in everything we do.
My approach
My ultimate goal is to help you become more aware of the mental, emotional, and behavioural patterns that are constricting your ability to perform your best, and to help you build skills that reveal the innate calm, confident, and focused state of mind that's already within you.
Imagine your mind is the sky, and pressure, stress, worry, and self-doubt are the clouds. My job is to help you clear away the clouds to reveal the limitless sky underneath.
For the geeks, my work is a blend of mindfulness-acceptance-commitment (MAC) and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
